About Mayan Hands

Exquisitely crafted pine needle baskets and handwoven textiles handmade in Guatemala by our talented artisan partners. Our bestselling pine needle baskets are crafted from sustainably sourced longleaf pine needles and pajón, a native grass found, these heirloom-quality baskets will enhance the home with their natural beauty, texture and subtle fragrance. Basket makers masterfully combine color, form, and fine stitches to create pieces that are perfect for display or daily use. Our heirloom textiles are handwoven using techniques and patterns handed down through generations. Each product features a tag signed by the woman who crafted it. Mayan Hands is a nonprofit fair trade organization partnering with 17 groups of Maya women artisans in the Guatemala Highlands. Though recognized worldwide as extraordinary weavers and artisans, Maya women experience discrimination, poverty, and marginalization. Our artisan partners' lives tell a different story, of possibility and prosperity.
