About DorcasCreates

DorcasCreates is a UK based illustration brand that seeks to celebrate and uplift Black women through fun vibrant illustrated products and bold statement jewellery. A largely self taught artist; Dorcas loves to play with colour and pattern to produce pieces that are joyous yet powerful. Each illustration starts as a black and white pen drawing before being scanned and digitally edited in Photoshop and Illustrator. Dorcas draws inspiration from the Black women she encounters in her day to life. Dorcas takes these women and places them center stage in her artwork; standing beautifully and proudly in the center of the image Most of her pin designs are given a Yoruba name, in reference to her Yoruba heritage and the richness of the Yoruba language.
